It is a beautiful place to start and end your trip in Algonquin. I have visited this Access Point many times since I started going to Algonquin in 2013. This access point has everything that you need. Good toilets, boat launch ramp and parking. Along with that it has the Portage Store, where you can rent canoes, kayaks and anything that you would need for camping. A restaurant that you can get some food before or after your trip into Algonquin Park. It is also where you will pick up your Camping Permit for Canoe and Smoke Lake. The people inside have been very friendly every time that I went in there.
I am normally there on August long weekend, and it does get very busy. I can see it also being busy on any weekend where it is one of the first main locations to enter Algonquin coming from South West part of Highway 60.
